FUNDAMENTALS OF COUPLE DANCING FOR BEGINNERS 2 (both real and “false” ones)
Partner dancing is a bit like a relationship. A lot of it you can understand intuitively or sense, but some things are just good to know. Want to get into the basics of partner hold, leading and following, turns and underarm turns? Want to learn how to lead your partner sensitively and clearly? And above all, do you want to enjoy dancing more because of it?
We're offering a follow-up to the successful partner dance course we ran in the spring. Once again it will be taught by our lovely instructor Eivilė Šimeček. Feel free to sign up even if you didn't come in the spring: the key things will be repeated, and the course is designed to work for both returning and new participants.
Classes will be taught in Czech or English, depending on who signs up. Don't worry, we'll understand each other. Words won't be the most important part anyway.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The course suits anyone who doesn't feel steady on their feet in partner dances and feels they're missing solid foundations. It's not just for balfolk dancers. The principles of partner leading carry over to other dances too.
WHEN AND WHERE?
Classes run from 3 November 2026 to 26 January 2027, every Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at ZŠ Santoška (U Santošky 1/1007, right next to KP Smíchov). You'll arrive late to the regular Tuesday balfolk, but with brand-new dance skills!
WHAT TO BRING?
Comfortable dance shoes, ideally with flat soles or only a slight heel.
HOW MUCH?
CZK 1,700 for ten 90-minute lessons.
HOW TO SIGN UP?
Enter your name and email address in the form. You don't need to sign up as a couple.
The course will run if at least 10 people sign up. We'd be glad if you'd recommend it to others who might be interested.
