Fortunately, it is also the one thing that lockdown can’t deprive you of. So before we meet on the dance floor again, let’s get some work done and get to the core of your dancing.

Unlike many everyday life motions, dancing implies thinking about how to move. This online course, consisting of ten lessons, will aim at developing this consciousness of movement to augment your dance toolbox. A broad range of material will be covered (from ballet techniques to elements of renaissance dances) and delivered in a cheery and kind way.
Teacher
Vinski Laine is a professional dancer, teacher and musician. He soaked up the French dance culture already as a child, having grown up in Brittany and Occitanie; and since then, he got to feel at home also in other countries and dance styles. Having taught dancers of various levels and backgrounds, he can go straight to the heart of the matter and share with you techniques and exercises that work. Plus in all his courses, an inevitable byproduct of learning is fun.
Format
The course consists of ten one-hour lessons, once per week, starting on Thursday, 12th November.
The lessons will be streamed on our YouTube channel on Thursdays from 20.30 to 21.30 pm. (Yes, we do have a YouTube channel – now you know.) During these live premieres, you can interact with Vinski (and other participants) through comments. Let Vinski know how it goes, ask for clarifications, express your enthusiasm – whatever you need. The videos will then remain on the channel, so if you can’t make it for the premiere, no need to worry.
The course will be taught in English (hopefully spiced up by a bit of French or Finnish every now and then).
What you need
Almost nothing, really. One or two square meters of space will be enough – Vinski knows how to give corona-friendly courses. Wear something casual and comfy and put a chair (or something) nearby to use as a support if needed.

To ensure that only people with genuine interest will attend the live streaming, we kindly ask you to register and will send you the link to the video by email, together with payment details. Later on, all the videos will become freely accessible. You will find the registration form below.
Price
The recommended contribution is 30 € (800 CZK) for the ten lessons – but you decide. This course was created at the behest of the balfolk.cz group because we believe that dancing should remain part of our lives even in times like these, and we want to keep it accessible. Are you an IT person not touched by the crisis at all? Consider higher contribution to support our attempts to get balfolk artist through the difficult times. Are you heavily affected yourself? Don’t worry about the money, join the lessons and have a good time. And perhaps tell a friend who is better off to join, too (wink-wink).
